Born in Istanbul 1950, Oktay Özinci is a graduate of the Business Administration Department of Boğaziçi University. He worked as a professional manager for twenty-seven years of his career. After five years in the textile and chemicals industry, he joined the Unilever group and worked in executive positions at various companies and capacities within the group, until he retired as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2000.
He continues his own active business life. At the same time, he is a part-time academic at the Business Administration Department of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Boğaziçi University, and has been delivering lectures on Strategic Management since 2000.
He has been a volunteer member of the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the Education Volunteers Foundation of Türkiye since 2002. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors between 2011-2015 and 2019-2023. Mr. Özinci has also been a member of the Global Compact Network Turkey Board of Directors since 2016.
