Our Education Parks, which have 1,000-1,500 m² of indoor and 10-15 decares of open space, benefiting approximately 5,000 children annually, are designed as child-friendly places that are suitable for the equipment required by our program content. In our Education Parks, which have football, basketball, etc. sports fields in their open areas, there are Activity Rooms, Information and Technology Rooms, Library, Multi-Purpose Hall and Special Workshops specially designed for different purposes.
Our Learning Units, which are smaller-scale spaces compared to our Education Parks, have 250 – 300 m² of indoor space. In our Learning Units, where approximately 1,500 children benefit annually, there are Activity Rooms, Information and Technology Room and Library specially designed for different purposes.
FIREFLY LEARNING UNITS
For the children who live in places without any Education Parks, we have Firefly Learning Units for them. After the 1999 Marmara Earthquake, the Firefly Learning Units, which became operational with the Umut 2000 Project, set out to enable children to continue their education in earthquake areas. Later, these tools were developed and transformed into the "Firefly" Project, reaching all provinces. Approximately 2,400 children can benefit from the Firefly Learning Units, which are built in trailers. Firefly Learning Units have 12 computerized informatics and technology rooms, a free activity room and a living space.
Science Firefly Learning Unit: This Firefly Learning Unit is the places the educational programs are implemented to help primary school students acquire the basic skills of science, and these units contribute to the development of children as individuals who can think scientifically, can solve problems, and develop positive attitudes towards science.
Informatics Firefly Learning Unit: This Firefly Learning Unit is the places the educational programs are implemented to help primary school children who can use computer and communication technologies in all areas of life. In this program, educational programs developed to increase technology awareness, to gain algorithmic thinking skills, to interpret and to support mental skills will be implemented with algorithms and coding contents, robotic sets, and Algo Digital coding game.
Dream Wanderer Firefly Learning Unit: This Firefly Learning Unit is the places the educational are implemented that will contribute to increasing the artistic knowledge and skills of primary school children and gaining a positive attitude towards art, improve their awareness of basic art concepts, and support the strengthening of life skills such as creativity, responsibility, communication and teamwork through art.
Traffic Firefly Learning Unit: This Firefly Learning Unit is the places the educational programs are implemented in order to increase traffic knowledge and awareness of primary school children and to enable them to acquire concepts, skills and attitudes related to traffic.
Design Inventors Firefly Learning Unit: This Firefly Learning Unit is the places the educational programs are implemented in order to develop a project with the content that is designed to carry out the stages of empathy, definition, design, prototyping and testing in groups so that primary school children can recognize real life problems defined as Sustainable Development Goals with the approach of learning by doing and together, and produce solutions on these goals, children get to know maker tools and at the end of the process in which they will find solutions to the problems they encounter in real life by using these tools (3D printers, 3D design pens, electronic cards, sensors, motors, recycling materials, etc.).
